“Saturated” means nothing was skipped — every process in roughly 1,700 μm³ of mouse neocortex was segmented, glia and vasculature included. The volume is tiny by modern standards and the completeness is the point.

What it is good for. Understanding what dense reconstruction actually demands, and what the neuropil looks like when nothing is filtered out. It is also the dataset behind the widely cited finding that axon-dendrite proximity is a poor predictor of connection.

What it does not support. Any statistical claim that needs many cells. At this volume most neurons are truncated within a few tens of microns of their soma.
